As we continue to grow, we’re looking for a Principal / Managing Consultant to come in, take ownership, and make a real impact.
The Role
We are seeking an experienced and driven Principal Consultant – Medical Recruitment to lead and grow our medical division, with a particular focus on the Northern Ireland market. This is a senior, strategic role for a high-performing consultant with a strong track record of working with the Health and Social Care in Northern Ireland (HSC) Trusts and managing placements under formal medical frameworks.
The successful candidate will bring in-depth knowledge of HSC procurement processes, framework compliance, and established relationships across the Northern Ireland Trusts.
Key Responsibilities
Business Development & Account Management
Develop and manage key accounts across the 5 Northern Ireland HSC Trusts
Maintain and grow existing framework business while identifying opportunities for service expansion.
Lead negotiations on rates and service level agreements within framework parameters.
Ensure full compliance with HSC framework requirements and audit standards.
Framework & Compliance Expertise
Demonstrate comprehensive understanding of HSC medical frameworks and governance.
Ensure all placements meet compliance, onboarding, and audit requirements in line with Trust standards.
Candidate Management
Source, attract, and place high-calibre doctors across a range of specialties and grades.
Build long-term relationships with consultants and junior doctors.
Provide expert guidance to candidates on framework processes, documentation, and onboarding requirements.
Leadership & Strategy
Act as a senior figure within the medical recruitment division.
Mentor and support junior consultants.
- Drive revenue growth while maintaining margin and compliance standards.
Essential Requirements
Proven experience in medical recruitment (minimum 5+ years).
Demonstrable experience working with Northern Ireland HSC Trusts.
In-depth knowledge of HSC medical frameworks and procurement processes.
Strong billing history and evidence of consistent revenue generation.
Established network of client and candidate contacts within Northern Ireland.
Excellent negotiation and relationship-building skills.
Strong understanding of compliance requirements for medical locum placements.
Desirable
Experience managing a team or mentoring consultants.
Track record of winning new business within public sector healthcare.
Knowledge of wider UK NHS frameworks.
